hello,
please check your data are correct. Can you login into a software like phpMyAdmin using that database user? and did you created an empty database for the installation?

If everything seems ok, then please try to use a version of php different from 5.3.0 as that version was a little buggy in handling some connections with the mysql database.

I am have a similar problem where I cannot get past the following installation problem. I am not that tech savy so please be gentle.

This is a local installation on a Windows Vista Business version laptop. I downloaded  EasyPHP5.3.0 and the Docebo version 3.6.0.3 plus installed the security patch. This is what I get! Help please.

Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user 'pbarbour'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in C:\EasyPHP5.3.0\www\install\lib\lib.docebosql.php on line 13

Warning: mysql_select_db() expects parameter 2 to be resource, boolean given inC:\EasyPHP5.3.0\www\install\lib\lib.docebosql.php on line 38

Can't connect to DB, please check inserted data

Hello,
do you get that message on the first step of the install or when during the installation procedure?

The problem seems to be related to the database so maybe you don't have specified valid database name or username / password for your database connection.. Did you created an empty database before starting the installation process?
