Hi,

First, thanks for this great job !

I would like to know how the different roles in docebo are defined ? (admin, prof, mentor, tutor, student...)

I saw that we can specify user permission, but where can we define default role permission ?

Thanks,

Regards,

Fred

Hi, roles in docebo pholosophy are intended as functions.
Partial Functions can be assigned to administrator (not to super administrator) and to every user trough menu management in LMS

Hi Claudio,

Thanks for your answer. In fact I would like to change the permission for one of my tutor to see the stats but not to add or change the courses...

Even if I uncheck all the rights in the LMS menu management, the level tutor automatically gives him the right to add a new learning object or to change the course description !

Is there a way to change this ?

Thanks in advance,

Regards

Fred

I only use the LMS part of docebo. I would like to define a tutor who can see the stat of the courses of his groups but who can't modify anything in the courses (LMS/ Teacher area).

Thanks

Sorry everyone,

But this is another area where I am totally confused.

Can someone please give a simple clear explanation of the different roles and if their functions are fixed or can be changed?

What are the functions/permissions of each role?  Please note I will be using whatever you tell me in a new English Manual for Docebo.

Hi ebsi,
here is a simple (maybe not clear!) description of each role:

admin: user with greater permissions, can modify the structure of the course
teacher: can work with LO, gradebook, etc...
tutor and mentor: have the same permissions, but they are supposed to act differently. The mentor is closer to teachers, while tutor is closer to students
student: well...it's the sudent!
guest: can only view some sections of Docebo
ghost: is like guest, but its activities are not traced

This is a quick overview of their base functions, but you can change them in the menu management section of each course.

Hi

I've spent a few days with the system loaded on my server and despite reading all of the manuals cannot get anywhere into loading courses.

It appears that to do this I need to be a "teacher" working in the LMS side of the program.  I'm at a loss to understand how I create a "Teacher"

In the admin side when I create a user I have a a choice of 3 categories Super Admin, Administrator and User.

How to I assign the teacher role to a user registered on the system

You are wrong . Docebo LMS doesn`t act like a CMS , so you should first create your course via Admin Area>E-Learning>Course management then you could define which user could access to course as a teacher or instructor . Please have a view on WIKI .
