Object : Course Category Catalogue (confusion)
Hello,

I'm currently implementing the LMS Docebo module, and I'm a little confused with the course structure.

In the admin page, you can create and manage, courses, bounded courses and catalogues

        1) On the Courses pages, you can organize the courses by catégories like shown on following picture.

                Courses - categories

    2) On the  Bounded course page , you can select several courses to organize tyour bounded course, that seems logic and interesting.

    3) Finally on the Catalogue page, you can create catalogues to wich you add courses.

The most confusing for me are the categories organization and the Catalogues organiaation that are differents. On top of it, the catalogues as organized in the admin module does never appear anywhere ? or I didn't find any way to ?

The courses that appear on the Docebo e-learning Home page are in fact related to the categories organization and not the catalogues we created in the admin module.

Home page

Could somebody explain to me why these 2 courses organization: categories and catalogues ?  Where and how to show the catalogues other than into the admin module.

Finally once logged, the user don't see neither the categories nor the catalogue. He just can select courses or bounded:  would it be possible to make categories appear into the cours selection page ? is there any way for the user to select courses by selecting fist a category ?

Thanks for your help !!!

Hi Damien and all,

I am also completely confused about how course category and catalogue work, and agree with Damien that the course hierarchy to which the student is enroled should be displayed when they log into the system.

Can ANYONE explain to me in English or Spanish how its supposed to work?

Let me try to explain...
Right now the category tree is just used to organize the courses, but in the next release (3.5) it will also be shown in the course list and the user could browse by category (give a look at mydocebo.com).
Using the catalogue, instead, you can assign different groups of courses to different users. In this way, you can avoid that everybody sees all the courses.
I hope that now it is clearer.

Hi All,

Sorry but I have done the following:
1) set out my courses in catalogs and categories and curricula.
2) Structured my students under the organisation chart
I have been able to add ONE course from a curriccula so that the corresponding students under that organisation tree branch access it

BUT - How can I assign students under a certiain branch of hierarchy of users to a certain Curriculum or catalog so I don't have to assign EACH course individually?

HELP!  Please take time to explain clearly so I can then use it for the Manual I am preparing.

Regards,

I appreciate the function of catalog!

But, I find catalog cannot work together with category.

Put in another words, can i use the catalogue to assign different groups of categories (not courses) to different groups of users. In this way, i can avoid that everybody sees all the categories folder like the screen above.
