Object : Uploading SCORM Zip File With Filezilla
I can very quickly upload my SCORM zipped content to the courrse file;
for example, I have uploaded a zip SCORM file into my LMS course file.  When I log into my LMS, I don't know how to make that SCORM file show in the student's course documents area.  Does anyone know what I should do?

Hi DRGALLEOS

As far as I can understand from your post (in the header) you uploaded the file with Filezilla?
You have to upload them in the lms. see flas below:

Hope this helps you

regards.

Patrick:

I did upload the file using filezilla; however, when I went to upload to the LMS, and seleccted the file from my folder (on the desk top), it keeps timing out, because it is a large scorm file.  That is why I first uploaded it using filezilla.  Now, the file is located in my www/docebo/files/doceboLms/course folder on my hosted server.  I am just trying to figure out how to access that zipped file now in my Lms.

Hi DRGALLegos,

Isn't it possible to locate the "select file to upload path" during adding scorm-object to the location on your server??
And maybe use another folder instead of the files folder?

I know that uploading a scormfile, the way I described in the flash, is placing this scorm-file in the /files/scorm/  folder.
I think It first has to be uploaded so it has "identified itselfs" to the system.... (I'm  not a programmer so may be a weird description)
I 'm almost sure it has something to do with that.

An other solution (if you are entitled to) change the settings of your server increase "time-out time" and increase "max-upload-size"

I hope my answer will send you in the right way

regards Patrick

You can upload a .zip file with only the organization and the upload the files separately

I have uploaded a very large scorm zip file 335mb's via ftp. I am new to docebo and having read all the forum comments on large files I am still confused. I have loaded the files into the files/doceboLms/scorm directory but they dont appear anywhere in a way that I can upload them. When I go the add objects area there is nothing that indicates how I can locate the zip file on the server.

Can anyone suggest how I do this?
Thanks

Hello Iain,
you first have to upload a zip file with only the manifest as suggested by Claudio and using the method showed in the screencast above.

Then once you uploaded your empty scorm object, a folder will be created under files/doceboLms/scorm/ Just look for it with your ftp client and then go inside it and upload your scorm package contents.

bye,
Giovanni.

Hi Giovanni and Claudio:

I have this same issue where my host will not allow me to upload files larger than 32M and does not allow me to have my own php.ini file running.

I uploaded all my SCORM root files in .zip format (into Docebo v4.0.4) to create my course and course folder (this all went well), then removed the admin user (only this user was registered in order to upload teh .zip file as SCORM) from the course and went to upload the rest of the files into the course folder and found I could not CHMOD the folder.

I have attempted to CHMOD 777 files and subfolders with no luck.

I'm lost as to what to do now.

Any suggestions?

UPDATE: I've found an undocumented feature in DoceboLMS (which makes perfect sense). In the LMS, the course author is able to delete a Learning object (including a SCORM course). Normally, this can be an issue with courses that have users registered, however, in my case it works well.

When the author deletes the course in the LMS, the resources and their respective folders/files are automatically deleted from the filesystem under the files root.

This feature is GREAT as I have worked with many LMS systems that force you to delete the SCORM folders via FTP after the course is deleted. I have also modified my html and ims files to support the content outside the couse folder so I was able to illiminate any remote SCORM configurations (such as requiring a remote proxy).

So my new (and only) question is... How can I delete the folders for the courses I deleted from the LCMS side?

Deleting a cousre on the LCMS side without first deleting the learning objects from the LMS side leaves the file/folders behind and they are locked into CHMOD 755 thus an attempt to delete them results in a 550 response (HTML access denied response).

Hello,
when you upload files using DoceboLMS the owner of the uploaded file is not the same owner of your ftp account if you are not using the FTP upload method. So if you have folders that you can't delete, receiving error 550, you should ask your hosting provider to delete them for you or to have the owner of that files / folder changed to you ftp user.

bye,
Giovanni.
