Object : How to upload several files
Hi to all,
I'm creating an example course as a teacher. I've created a basic html webpage and I want to add it to my course, but I couldn't find any option as a teacher neither as an admin to upload several files. How can this be achieved? because it  is not possible that the only available option to upload files be one by one....On the other hand, is there any way to do this via ftp? because I also tried to  use this option, but I cannot find the proper path because if I upload a folder( full of files)  in the  item folder when I visualize the course the folder appears as closed and I cannot see any file.

Thanks in advance,

Hi Halane,

As a teacher to the course, you can create Learning Objects to the course, which can be in HTML page, FAQ, Upload File. Hope this solve your problem.

Hello Liangeh,
thanks for your response, but what you are telling me doesn't solve my problem. What I want to do is to upload several files at a time, because for example, to create a webpage using the html option can be very tedious if you need to upload several images. So it would be wonderful if it was possible to upload several images at once.

Hi halane,

If you have many HTML pages and many images to be built as a Learning Object inside a course.  I suggest you use HTML type Scorm learning object. Give me your email, I can send you the zip file with all the coding. This forum has no attach file feature.

Step 1: Once you receive my zip file, unzip into a folder. You will see the files and directory structure like below.  Use Your prefer Editor (that support UTF encoding)(i use SuperEdi), to edit the HTML page.

Step 2: Once finish editing, put in all the HTML to the SAME zip file. The zip contains some js scorm logic to communicate between LMS (eg. docebo) and your Scorm LO. So, don't build a new zip.

Step 3: Login as Instructor. Go to Admin Learning Object, click New Learning Object. Choose Load Scorm object option. Then, click New Learning Object.

step 4: Select the zip to upload. [I don't know what is the function of Create Complete Object List, may be someone can help]

This is the result you will get.

Let me explain why HTML scorm object is useful.

1. It can track which html page the student has learnt up to. For example, student learnt up to page10.html, tired and stop learning. Next few days, he come back to continue to learn the HTML scorm object, scorm will jump to page10.html.

2. It has "not yet started", "in progress", 'completed' status.

This is "in progress", where the student has not browsed all the html pages.

If the student browses until the last page, he/she must click done, in order to gain "completed" status.

This is a completed status.

3. It has tracking time. It can tell how long the student spent on this scorm object. So that instructor knows whether the student cheats or not. I don't implement in my scorm object.

Hello LiangEH,
thank you so much. I'm  learning to create scorm objects using reload but I haven't thought about creating html scorm objects until you mentioned that, I really was thinking about the teacher having its own webpage inside the course with additional information for the course, not as a learning object but I like your point of view and I think it's a good solution to my problem. How can I send you my email address for you to send me the example?

Hello,
I'm sorry but I was wrong about it; actually you can't upload a file directly. You should instead publish it somewhere and then link in a mew thread inside the External Module section. Maybe you can just use a online free service like http://www.2shared.com/ or dropbox..

thanks.

bye,
Giovanni.
