When intial creating a course there is an option

"Code to automatically subscribe to a course"

I can not understand how to get this to work. Even when I enter a code here the users can still enroll as if the field was not even there. Is this even functioning? Does this course option work?

To implement the "Code to automatically subscribe to a course", here are the steps:

Administrator Documentation
1. Create the course with the following setting:

• Show course to:Only users subscribed to the course (if you do not want to show the course at the Catalog)
  
• Code to automatically subscribe to a course
  

2. In the Manage User Area Module, enable Add Course module, allow groups of users of nodes OR users to view this Add Course module.

Student Documentation
1. Click the Add Course menu.

2. Enter the code. This will register the student to the course.
