It's a Learning Object issue, why don't you convert all in SCORM?

Claudio would you be able to suggest a SCORM authoring tool as all I need to do is embed QuickTime movies so that they play.

we currently were fine with using QuickTime but in Docebo 404 QuickTime files are not working, the issue is although we save the file as a Quicktime file the system changes it back to Flash?

would you know any fix for this as a temporary solution ??

thanks for all the help

regards

Is there any alternative way to put youtube videos? :S

For example, how can I share this video?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JKBjWsepyw

I am trying to put this code but I can not show at the pages.

<iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/7JKBjWsepyw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

We have been testing several different methods of implementing media in our LMS.

And it´s just a question of what you want.

1. Do you need tracking? If so, SCORM is the most reliable way to go.
PROS: You can use Articulate Studio to import media in Powerpoint and export as a SCORM. My favorite if you need to use an authoring tool is actually Adobe eLearning suite. Their media converter is by far better that Articulate´s and the Suite is a complete tool for making this work. Convert and import into presenter or Captivate. Export as SCORM and you´re done.

CONS: This actually leads to load on your LMS server, streaming video.

2. Embed from Youtube or other streaming media server.

PROS: Easy, insert embed code, done! No load on your LMS server.
CONS: No tracking on progression. Is most of the times public media servers. Do you want your video available to everyone?

3. Setup an internal Youtube Clone like Vimp.

PROS: Just as easy as Youtube, insert embed code, done! Server can be inside firewall. Permissions possible. No load on your LMS server.
CONS: Takes time for 1st setup of server, and you need more hardware.

We are using alternative 3 and are happy as we can be. The videoserver has VOD and we can upload almost any normal format. The server does all the converting (both flash and HTML5) and we are actually using the server as a videoportal outside the LMS. Embedding relevant videos into the LMS courses were cool. It delivers player capabilities, fast forward and backwards, fullscreen, sharing possibillities and so on. All we need to do is edit the movie and upload. Cool :)

Hello,

First of all thank you for your fast and detailed reply.

http://www.hdflvplayer.net

Two, three hours ago, I found this flv player and we can add videos to lessons via this flv player. We can not put youtube videos because of iframe codes. Also, to install vimp or similar scripts, we need at least a VPS. On the other hand, we can use "hdflvplayer" on a shared hosting.

Best Regards
