Object : make a new version of a learning object in use
I have displayed an e-learning course that is used by students. However we have made some changes in te SCORM object so now I wish to upload the new version of the e-learning course. How can I replace the learning object in use with the new version? What about the progress of the students?

Hi

What I do is find the course on the server. You can do this by looking for the files directory, then DoceboLMS and Scorm. You will then find the directory with the name of your course.

I then update the files in there, so keeping everything in place.

Hope that helps?

Hello Mireille
You have more than one problem
  • You have to train students that have completed the course only on updated items
  • You have to train other students (the ones that they didn't attend) on all the contents
Best way in my hopinion is:

Maintan the old course but block it
  • Upload the updated scorm pack for the students that have to attend the course and mark as end course object marker
  • Upload only updated chapters for students that have completed the course and mark as end course object marker" too

Thank you for your answers.

Claudio, do you mean block the whole course, or only the learning object?
If it is the learning object, do I keep the learning objects of both versions under the same course? Or do I create a new course?

Thanks again.

Mireille

Simply block (or better hide) the learning object. Of course you can pleace multiple LO versions in the same course
