Hi I am a newbie and I'm still going thru all the material included in the PDF documentation, Wiki and forums.  So i apologize in advance if i am asking something that has already been answered. 

I have created a new course.   I've assign the user to a group.  and I've uploaded power point slides to that course.  my user can see the course when they log in, they have registered for the course, by the user does not see any of the documents for the course.

what other activities can i add for the course? how can i add quizzes? in moodle you could create quizzes from within moodle, i dont see that here.

if you refer to demo material, please note that there is a bug in version 4.0.4 related to this.

While if you want to make available a document for the user, as a course's material, you have to enter the course as a (course) administrator or teacher and go to Teacher area > Learning object management.

From here you can upload documents, add quiz, and so on..

I'd suggest you to read the manual you find in the manuals section of this site.

But how do you create a Teacher?

Ive spent the best part of 4 hours reading the manual, watching the online tutorials and reading these forums and for the life of me cant see how I get tot he teacher upload LO files screen.

Am I going mad?

from administration > e-learning > course you can create a course and subscribe users to course. When you have subscribed a user to a course you can change his level and promote him to a teacher / administrator for that course. Then just enter the course as the administrator or teacher and go to Teacher area > Learning object management.
