I have worked all day on this and haven't figured it out so I thought I would ask the experts.

Is there a way for when a user registers on the site they are automatically subscribed to a particular course?  I have tried in the competencies, company rules, and enrollment rules but it doesn't show the course in 'My Courses'.  It does show there is a gap for that person in training but doesn't automatically subscribe the person to the course to fill that Gap.

It does work when I enroll a new user in the back end.  I still need to retest if it works from the front end now.

I just confirmed that the course is not automatically subscribed when the user registers from the front end but the user is automatically subscribed when they are added from the back end.  Is this a bug or was it developed to work this way?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
