What’s new in the latest Docebo release?

• 3 min read

We’re thrilled to announce that Docebo has released an array of new features, integrations, enhancements and – this is big news – two new disruptive modules to add Informal and Social Learning to your online training projects.

Social and Informal Learning

Docebo’s approach has expanded beyond formal learning to capture the user-generated knowledge that already exists in an organization and to provide a home for the daily learning exchanges that occur among teammates, mentors and coaches.

The new platform, which is available to a limited number of customers until a public launch next year, adds two new modules: Docebo Coach and Docebo Share to address the 70:20:10 learning framework.

Docebo’s end-to-end eLearning ecosystem is now comprised of the following modules:

Docebo Learn

The Docebo platform as you know it: an LMS to organize, distribute and track online courses.

Docebo Coach

A new module that facilitates social learning by engaging the experts. Ask questions, get answers and coach your peers.

Docebo Share

Capture user-generated knowledge, validate via peer review and share it across the organization.

Integrations: Authoring, A/B Testing and Help Desk

Docebo is designed to be used with a multitude of cloud-based applications, like our recently-announced Salesforce integration. With the latest update, we’re providing three new integrations:

  • Elucidat: An innovative elearning authoring tool; beautiful UI (User Interface) for mobile devices; Tin Can 1.0 (xAPI) compliant.
  • Zendesk: A customer service platform that includes ticketing, self-service options (knowledge base), and customer support features
  • Optimizely: A user experience optimization platform that enables A/B testing to enhance websites and mobile applications.

Enhanced Video Experience

Video is the future of learning (and, we should add, the present), and we’ve made it our mission to harness the latest video technology available.

The new Docebo video player comes with full HLS encoding support and resolution-adaptive streaming. What’s more, Docebo will support the webVTT standard so you can add subtitles to your eLearning videos in more than 30 languages!

Bookmarking has been implemented, and you can even enable an option that prevents learners from fast-forwarding through courses (that’s bad news for the cheaters out there, but good news for instructors).

Core function improvements

We couldn’t just add two new modules and leave our core LMS as-is. We’ve got plenty of updates in store to help you better organize, track and distribute online courses:

  • We’ve added xAPI 1.0.x (Tin Can) support for the most advanced authoring tools, and improved tracking capabilities.
  • Learning Object categories: Add tags and topics to categorize Learning Objects.
  • New Learning Object types for ILT: Use video, html and authoring files (from slide converter) in your ILT sessions.
  • New notifications: Be notified when course is not completed or when a certain action is taken during a webinar.
  • OAuth 2.0: Updated SSO capabilities to integrate with the latest cloud applications.
  • LDAP multidomain: Manage different LDAP servers for different domains.
  • Just-in-time provisioning for SAML: Create Docebo users on the fly the first time they try to log in via SAML.
  • Improved power user permission assignments
  • Improved look and feel of the blog and forum.
  • Improved custom reports.
  • Add custom fields to courses in order to improve catalog browsing.
