Docebo and Slack Play Together for Better Training Efficiency and Improved Productivity

Projects don’t progress without team communication, and these days communication is facilitated by an array of chat applications. An array as in a lot. There’s a huge variety of chat tools available, and any business is entitled to use the chat applications that work best for them. But what’s even better is when those applications are integrated seamlessly into other tools, such as eLearning software.

That’s why Docebo is happy to announce yet another addition to our growing list of integrations with other third-party productivity tools. As of today, the new Docebo 6.9 release is now integrated with Slack, a real-time messaging, file-sharing, and archiving application. It’s the first step of a staged integration that will be delivered to customers over the coming months.

No Slacking Off

The integration with Slack is notable, not only because it has become one of the leading team-productivity and communication applications on the market (as bolstered by this PC Mag review), but also in light of the company’s considerable (and growing) list of clients. NASA’s propulsion laboratory, Lush Cosmetics, LinkedIn, Samsung, ebay, airbnb, and Harvard University are all among the growing list of prominent global customers that use Slack’s elegant interface and streamlined tools to manage their projects smoothly and efficiently.

Slack also already integrates with many other commonly used productivity and project programs and services like Google Drive and Dropbox, further enabling users to get all of their applications and tools speaking to one another.

Docebo Meets Slack

How will the Docebo-Slack integration help users? Well, conventionally, customers use learning platforms that send notifications to learners about newly available courses, for example, that they must complete within a certain date range. These notifications would be sent through email and a system notification within the LMS in most cases, and both users and trainers would be notified accordingly.

With this new integration, events triggered in an LMS trigger a notification to select channels or individuals through Slack — at least for Docebo clients that already use or begin to use Slack.

For example, training managers that want to notify groups of learners about newly available courses simply have to open a notification panel, select “Slack’, and decide whether the notification will be sent to a Slack channel or through a direct notification to specific individual Slack users. Messages posted through channels are archived and searchable to the entire team, while conversations between two or more team members are visible and searchable only by those specific members.

Not Our First or Last Integration

For existing Slack users (or planned Slack adopters), the efficiency gains will be immediate, as fewer steps will need to be undertaken in order to get the right information to the right trainers and learners at the right time.

Not a Slack user? No problem. Just as users and businesses seek out the right tools for their company, Docebo is in constant pursuit of integrating all of the best-in-class, third-party applications into our award-winning, cloud-based LMS. So stay tuned for future announcements on upcoming integrations with the Docebo 6.9.
