Convert Presentations into Learning Objects with the Docebo LMS Slide Converter

• 2 min read

Add your PPT and PDF files to your online courses using Docebo’s slide converter tool

Learning management systems offer several ways to create or import learning materials into online courses. Typically, interactive courses are created by using an eLearning content authoring tool, such as Lectora Online, Elucidat, Adobe Captivate, or Articulate 360 (just to mention a few). The training material is then published into the LMS platform.

We often see organizations that have created learning materials internally in the form of slide presentations using tools such as Microsoft PowerPoint. Slide decks are also often rendered into the popular PDF format. This causes a couple of questions to arise: How can I import these materials in my online courses? And, can I track a learner’s progress and completion?

Import Presentations and Track Learning Progress in Docebo

In the Docebo LMS, the answer is to all of the above is yes. With a single ‘drag and drop’, you can upload PowerPoint slide decks and PDF presentations into your course. When uploaded, the presentation is converted into a Learning Object, which can be completed with a title, description, progress bar, and other navigation elements.

Watch the video below to learn how to convert your PowerPoint and PDF presentations.

You can also find step-by-step instructions here.

Once converted, the presentation can then be assigned to learners as is, or complemented with other learning materials such as videos, quizzes, surveys, etc. The LMS will also be able to track progress and completion. With our bookmark features, learners will be able to restart the presentation from the last slide seen.
