Introduction

Go.Learn lets you to access your platform directly from your mobile devices. Through the app, you can easily attend courses, complete training material, and view various assets and channels.

The Go.Learn mobile app is available for both iOS (including iPads) and Android devices. You can download the app by searching for “Go.Learn” in the Apple Store or in Google Play Store.

For those using Android devices, remember that you need to have access to Google Play Store to be able to download and access the app.

Please note that the mobile app has no admin functionality. Rather, it is for end users (learners).

Logging into your Mobile App

Logging into your Mobile AppTo access the app, tap on the app’s icon to launch it. On the first page, insert your learning platform’s URL in the Platform URL text box or choose it from the suggestion list that appears, showing the URLs of the latest platforms into which you logged in successfully.

Please note that the URL of your platform and your mobile app are the same. If you need help, contact your platform administrator.

Then, press Proceed to Login Page and insert your username and password. If configured by your admin, you can also flag the Keep me logged in option so you don’t have to login again every time you launch the app on your device.

Alternatively, the mobile app supports Single Sign On (SSO). You can press the Sign In with SAML/OKTA, Sign In with AUTH0, OpenID Connect or Google Apps (Gmail) button to log into the app this way. Once you’re ready, press Sign In to access your platform. After you sign in, if your administrator set some additional fields that you must fill in to complete your profile (e.g. your fiscal code, the country where you live, etc.), the Additional Fields page will open, in which you’ll have to fill in the required additional fields.

If you forgot your password, click on Lost Password. Then, insert your username or your e-mail address in the corresponding field. You’ll receive an e-mail with instructions. Please note: To reset your password, you have to access to your e-mail account from your mobile app or from desktop.

The Go.Learn language is the one you set in the language settings of your device, regardless of your preferred language in the platform. If your device language is not available for Go.Learn, the app language will be set to English. Remember that if you deactivate the language that you’re using on your mobile device from your desktop platform, some parts of the app’s interface may be displayed in your device language and some other parts may be displayed in your platform default language.

If a new version of the app is available, when you log into Go.Learn, a dialog box will appear. Tap on the Update Now button to open the app store and download the new version of Go.Learn. Don’t worry, you can keep using the app while downloading the updates!

Creating an Account via the Mobile App

Creating an Account via the Mobile AppIf you don’t already have an account in your learning platform, you may be able to create an account from the login page of your mobile app, depending on how your administrator has configured your learning platform.

To do so, press the Register button on the login page, then fill in all of the mandatory information to create your account. You may be required to choose a branch of your company’s organizational chart (branches can be related to offices, agencies, divisions, units, countries, etc.). In this case, you need to go to the second page of the registration process to fill in the fields linked to the branch you chose. You may also need to accept your platform’s privacy policy and/or Terms & Conditions in order to create the account. Press Register again once you’re finished. If there are any errors in the data that you filled in the required registration fields, an error message appears at the bottom of the page, and you’ll be redirected to the page containing the wrong data to correct it.

In order to confirm your account, you will then receive an email, depending on how your administrator has configured your learning platform. Once your account has been confirmed, you can log into the platform from your app on your mobile device as well as from the desktop platform.

You can also evaluate them selecting either a thumbs up or down icon at the bottom of each item, depending on how beneficial you find it to be. This page also displays all of the questions asked about channels, assets or courses that you as a user have the permission to view or into which you are enrolled. From this page, you can also add your answer to a question. If you are interested in a Q&A thread, tap on Follow under the text of the question.

Downloading & Playing Offline Content

Offline ContentIn the mobile app, certain types of training material (SCORM, uploaded videos, slides, files, and HTML page training material) can be downloaded, played and tracked offline. Full courses (but not full learning plans) can be downloaded as well. On the contrary, videos from Youtube, Vistia or Vimeo cannot be downloaded. Please note that this is only applicable for the mobile app, not the mobile browser version of the platform.

When your app is online, access the course, then press the ellipsis icon in the top right corner and press the Download button that appears at the bottom of the screen. Alternatively, you can download a specific training material by pressing by ellipsis icon in the material’s row on the screen, then pressing the Download button that appears at the bottom of the page.

All of the material that are downloaded for offline viewing are compressed so that the required data to be transferred is reduced to the minimum size, thus saving time and memory space for the download. After the download is complete, they are expanded by the app so that they can be played immediately.

You can see the progress of the download directly on your app. In case there are any errors during the download process or if your device does not have enough free storage space to download a training material, an error message and icon will appear.

Once courses and training material are successfully downloaded, you’ll find them in the Offline Content area of your app. Access that section from your main menu, by tapping on the arrow icon at the bottom of the page, then enabling the Downloaded Only option. Thanks to this functionality, you are able to play the downloaded courses and training material when you’re in offline mode, and your progress will be tracked. Once your app is online again, your progress will be synced and your platform will record the progress you made while offline. Please note that if you are playing the same training material on both the mobile app and your desktop platform, the most recent tracking will take priority.

To exit from the Offline Content page, tap on the menu icon in the top left corner, tap on the arrow icon at the bottom of the page, and then disable the Downloaded Only option.

Once your app is online again, the status of your enrollment into the courses that you downloaded in the Offline Content area is checked, and if a course expired or if you are no longer enrolled into a course, the course or the training material included in that course are removed from the Offline Content page and deleted by the local storage. In this way, the content in the Offline Content page is always aligned with the status of your enrollments, and only courses into which you are currently enrolled (or training material included in the courses into which you are currently enrolled) are shown on this page.

Content Management in Your Mobile App

content management in your appIn your Go.Learn app, you can manage certain content that appears on some pages so you can ensure that the content on your app is relevant to your learning needs. The Hide or Unhide content functionality enables you to hide content in which you are not interested, so you can view only the content that is most valuable to you in your Go.Learn app. Additionally, the Mark Content as Outdated functionality enables you to mark content as outdated if you consider it old and no longer valuable to your learning experience. In this way, the quality of content published in the platform will improve and the overall content displayed in your platform will be enhanced.

These two functionalities are available both in the desktop version of your platform and in your Go.Learn mobile app. Learn more about hiding and unhiding content, and marking content as outdated in your platform.

Please note that the two functionalities work in the same way in the desktop platform and in your Go.Learn mobile app, except for the following minor differences:

  • Once applied filters to show hidden content, in your mobile app you can recognize hidden items from the hidden badge on the item’s card, while in the desktop platform you can recognize them from the barred eye icon on the item’s card.
  • In your mobile app, you can recognize items which are marked as outdated from the outdated badge on the item’s card, while in the desktop platform you can recognize them from the flag icon on the item’s card. From your desktop platform, you can see how many users have marked a content as outdated by hovering your mouse over the flag icon.
  • If an asset that you uploaded in your My Channel page has been marked as outdated by another user, you will receive a notification in the desktop version of your platform, but not on your mobile app. Learn more about the notifications that you will receive.
