The Docebo Mobile App allow users to access their LMS platforms directly from their mobile devices. Through the Docebo App, your users can easily attend courses and engage with learning objects via channels.
The Docebo Mobile Apps are available for both iOS (including iPads) and Android devices. Additionally, you can access your Docebo platform via web browser on your mobile devices, and you will see a fully functional mobile version of your platform instead of the desktop version. You can download the app by searching for “Docebo LMS Mobile” in the Apple Store or in Google Play.
Please note that the Mobile App has no Admin functionality. Rather, it is for end users (learners). Let’s take a look at how to use your Docebo mobile app.
Logging into your Docebo Mobile App
To access the app, tab on the app’s icon to launch it. On the first page, type in your Docebo LMS address in the text box and press Next. Type in your email address and password. You can also flag the option to Remember Me on this device so you don’t have to login again every time you launch the app.
Alternatively, Docebo Mobile Apps support Single Sign On (SSO). You can press the Sign In with SAML/OKTA or Sign In With Google Apps button to log into the app this way. Finally, the mobile app supports password reset if you forgot your password. You can press the Forgot Your Password? item if necessary. Once you’re ready, press Sign In to access your platform.
Managing Logo and Colors of the Mobile App (for Superadmins)
Admins can manage the logo and the colors of their Docebo Mobile App. This is also available for individual multidomain clients. To do so, reach the Admin Menu. Press the Mobile App Settings item in the Settings section. Set your company’s logo, login page background, and main app color. We suggest uploading a high resolution (retina display) logo. When you’re finished, press Save Changes.
Your branding (logo, colors, etc.) will now appear just as you’ve set them in the desktop version of your platform after you type in your URL into your Docebo LMS Mobile app. Please Note: For all customers, the app will always display Docebo as the developer. This cannot be configured.
The Homepage of Your Mobile App
Once you’ve reached the home page of your mobile app, you will see the screen is divided into two sections using two separate icons, the Channels icon and the My Channel icon. Please note that channels are available on every mobile app, regardless if your company is using Docebo’s Coach & Share feature or not.
The Channels Page
The Channels page is accessed by pressing the Channels icon. By default, this is the first screen that will appear when you log into your mobile platform.
You will see a list of channels, with the content (either assets, courses, or learning plans) in each channel. Individual learning objects will not appear in channels, but rather inside of courses within the channels. Swipe your finger left and right to scroll through the content in each channel. Simply click on the content to access it. Content will have a different interface according to it’s type, but all content will show the details as well as an easy way to complete it.
All engagement with content on your mobile app will automatically be tracked while your app is online. Refer to the corresponding section below to learn more about the mobile app’s offline player.
The My Channel Page
The My Channel page is accessed by clicking on the My Channel icon. Here, you will see a description of your channel (which you can edit, when desired) as well as how many contributions you have made in the LMS. You can click on each object with your finger to view and engage with it.
Your assets are divided into two sections: In Review and My Contributions. Assets in the In Review section are assets that were successfully uploaded, but are currently under Experts Peer Review. Assets in the My Contributions section are your published, unpublished or private contributions.
The Menu of Your Mobile App
The menu icon on your Docebo mobile app is found in the top left corner of your screen. When you press the icon, you will see your picture, email address, and five tabs: All Channels, My Channel, Upload, My Courses, and My Learning Plans. Please refer to the corresponding sections in this article to learn how to navigate each tab.
Additionally, you will see an X in the top left corner to exit the menu, and the power icon to logout of your account.
Uploading Content on your Mobile App
Select the Upload tab from your menu. The Upload page is divided into two sections: The Uploading Queue and your Uploaded Items. You can switch between the corresponding icons at the top to switch between the two sections.
In the Uploading Queue section (the first icon), you will see a list of items that you have uploaded that still need to be finalized or published. Press the plus button to upload assets, then select whether you want to take a photo or video, or select an existing photo or video from your photo library. In the mobile app, you can only upload images or video files. All video files will automatically be converted to .mp4. You will see a message and progress bar to let you know when the upload will be completed. Once complete, you can press the dots icon on the right side to remove the file or Add Details and Publish.
Select the Add Details and Publish item, then add a title and description for your content. Select if you want the content to be private or public, to which channels you will assign the content (if the object will be public), and which tags you want to use to describe the content.
When you’re finished, press Publish. Now, the item will appear in the Uploaded Items section. You can manage all uploaded items from this section. When you click on the object, you will then see how it looks in the mobile app as well as additional details, such as: name of uploader, time of upload, number of views, description, rating, and related assets.
Press the people icon to invite other users to watch the asset. In the To field, type in the username of the user, then add notes in the Suggestion text field. Press Invite to Watch when finished. To delete your uploads, press the Clean Uploaded List item on the top of this section.
To navigate courses, press the My Courses tab in your main menu. Your courses page will show you a tile display of all of the courses in which you’re enrolled. Just like your course page in your desktop platform, each course’s tile will display the course type (E-Learning, Webinar, or ILT Classroom), status (not yet started, in progress, or completed), and whether the course is locked or not.
When enter an E-Learning course, you will see the course details and a list of learning objects in the course. You can watch all learning objects except for surveys in your mobile app. Some learning object types can be downloaded to your phone, so you can watch them in offline mode. Refer to the corresponding section in this manual for more details.
Learning objects that are completed online will be tracked accordingly. For Docebo 7.0 and higher, video learning objects can be bookmarked, meaning they won’t be marked as completed as soon as the user opens the learning object. Subtitles are also available for uploaded videos for Docebo 7.0.
Navigating Learning Plans
To navigate learning plans, press the My Learning Plans tab in your main menu. Your learning plans page will show you a tile display of all of the learning plans in which you’re enrolled. Each tile will display the number of courses and the percentage of the learning plan that you’ve already completed.
When you enter a learning plan, you will see the description, your percentage of completion, and a list of courses in the plan. Press the course’s title in the list to enter the course. Now, refer to the section above to learn how to navigate courses in your mobile app.
Managing the Offline Player
For those using Docebo 7.0 or higher, certain types of learning objects (SCORM, uploaded videos, slides, files, and HTML page learning objects) can be downloaded, played and tracked offline. Please note that this is only applicable for the mobile app, not the mobile browser version of the platform.
When your app is online, access the course, then press the Download button. On the next page, you will see how much free storage is available on your phone. You can decide how many learning objects you want to download based on your device’s storage. Press the Download button in the learning object’s row.
Once downloaded, you are able to play the learning objects when you’re in offline mode, and your progress will be tracked. Once your app is online again, your progress will be synced and your LMS will record the progress you made while offline. Please note that if you are playing the same learning object on both the mobile app and your desktop platform, the most recent tracking will take priority.
Mobile App Limitations
Please note the following limitations when using your Mobile App:
- You cannot access survey learning objects in courses at this time, but the support for surveys will be added soon.
- User self-registration is not possible in the mobile app.
- External course catalogs are not available.
- You can not use custom CSS.
- SCORM or HTML Page learning objects will play smoothly in offline mode only if they are completely encapsulated, meaning that they do not reference any external websites.
- Course widgets are not available.
- The offline player is only applicable for the mobile app, not the mobile browser version of the platform.
- You cannot access webinars from the Mobile App.
