How to use the Course Management Menu

Introduction

Once you’ve created a course in your Docebo LMS, you can then configure the course management settings. Begin by accessing the Admin Menu from the gear icon in the top right corner of your platform. Then, select the Courses option in the E-Learning section. On the main Course Management page, find the course you want to manage in the list of courses and press the menu icon at the end of the course’s row.

Then, press the Training Material item from the dropdown menu. In the course’s Training Material page, you will see the available actions can be started using the buttons in the action bar at the top of the page: add and manage training resources (Training material button), enroll users (Enrollments button), create and analyze reports (Reports button), manage settings (Settings button), edit course properties (Course Properties button) and access the learner view (Learner View button). Let’s take a quick look at the operations you can perform in the Course Management Menu.

Training Materials

On the course’s Training Materials page, you can upload or create training material. To do so, press the Add Training Material button and choose a type of learning object from the dropdown menu.

You can also edit the layout of your course by adding some widgets. In order to do so, press Add Course Widgets. Select the widget from the list, then flag whether you want the widget to be half or full width. Enrollments

By pressing the Enrollments button in the action bar at the top of the page, you can enroll and manage users within the course.

Reports

By pressing the Reports button in the action bar at the top of the page, you can analyze student activities using statistics and reporting tools. This area is divided accordingly:

  • The course report section shows you a recap of the activities: enrolled users, days since launch, training material, how many users have to begin, how many are in progress, and how many users have completed the course.
  • Statistics section regarding course accesses
  • Users statistics
  • Learning object statistics

In this area you will be able to manage course options: details, catalog options, e-commerce, time options, certificates, player background, etc. Learn more about course settings.

Course Properties

By selecting the Course Properties button in the action bar, the Edit window will open. Here, you can define the course name and type, choose or upload a thumbnail, add or edit a course description and the course code, and define associated skills and automatic rules. Once you have filled out the fields, press Confirm.

Learner View

Finally, you can switch the view from the Admin View to the Learner View using the last button in the action bar at the top of the page. By doing so, you can see how learners view the course page.
