Brinkmann Constructors empowers field teams with mobile-enabled learning

Brinkmann Constructors is a national general contractor committed to building more than structures; they build careers, communities, and culture. With hundreds of employees working across job sites in various states, Brinkmann recognized the importance of delivering consistent, high-quality training to everyone, regardless of their location or access to traditional learning environments.

Danielle Buscher, Senior Talent Development Manager at Brinkmann, was tasked with modernizing how Brinkmann onboarded and trained staff, particularly those outside of a traditional office. She is quoted throughout this story.

The Challenge

Training a dispersed, on-the-go workforce

Prior to Docebo, Brinkmann’s training approach relied on manual processes. With many workers not using desks, it became clear that a more modern, accessible solution was needed to keep up with the pace and complexity of field operations. The lack of a unified platform made it difficult to ensure consistent onboarding experiences and track progress across the organization.

“We knew we needed a platform that would meet people where they were, whether in the office or out on a jobsite, and give them consistency in their experience.”

Danielle Buscher
Senior Talent Development Manager, Brinkmann

The Solution

Mobile-first, branded learning with Docebo

To overcome these challenges, Brinkmann implemented Docebo as their centralized learning platform. A standout element of the rollout was the branded mobile app, configured specifically for Brinkmann. This personalized mobile experience increased credibility and engagement among employees, who recognized it as an internal tool rather than external software.

The mobile app allowed field employees to access onboarding and training content directly from their job sites. It also enabled push notifications to prompt completions, streamlined tracking, and created a consistent learning experience across teams. Danielle noted that the system made training significantly more accessible, empowering field staff to engage with the content on their own terms and timelines.

Launching with a slam dunk: The March Madness campaign

To launch Docebo, Brinkmann introduced a March Madness-themed campaign. Employees were invited to join a learning tournament featuring a bracket-style leaderboard, point scoring for completing key courses, and weekly highlights of top performers. Prizes and recognition further motivated participation.

Danielle shared that the initiative wasn’t just about fun; it was about building a learning culture rooted in teamwork and continuous improvement. The response was overwhelmingly positive, particularly among field crews unfamiliar with digital learning. Within six weeks, the campaign resulted in more than 8,000 course completions.

“We made the launch of Docebo competitive, fun, and engaging, and I think that was a big part of what drove the early adoption. People wanted to be a part of it.”

Danielle Buscher
Senior Talent Development Manager, Brinkmann

The Results

Higher engagement, faster onboarding, safer teams

The impact of Docebo was immediate and measurable. More than 90% of field employees adopted the mobile app. Onboarding is completed on time by 99% of new hires, resulting in faster ramp-up and quicker time to productivity. Course completion rates soared, and superintendents noticed better-prepared teams arriving on job sites.

Danielle emphasized how valuable Docebo’s analytics have been. The team could monitor course progress, analyze feedback, and make quick improvements. They also use Docebo Content by OpenSesame to rapidly expand their course offerings. Danielle explained that Docebo Content by OpenSesame allowed them to fill content gaps with ready-to-use, high-quality modules on leadership, communication, and soft skills. This saved time and ensured the team could focus on strategic learning goals instead of starting from scratch.

“Our field employees are the backbone of our business. Docebo gave us the tools to train and engage them in a way we never could before.”

CSI

How CSI saved time building more impactful, scalable compliance training with Docebo

For over 60 years, CSI has partnered with community and regional banks of all sizes, delivering the latest technology to help them remain compliant and compete with today’s largest institutions.

Katie Dyer is the Manager of Training Logistics at CSI. She is quoted throughout this story.

The Challenge

EFFICIENTLY SCALING COMPLIANCE AND PRODUCT TRAINING

Community banks are a critical part of the economy, and CSI is on a mission to support that community. Through its modern software and open technologies, CSI ensures the banker experience and every interaction between consumers and their banks are seamless and secure.

Delivering on that promise has led to consistent growth, but that growth also presented a challenge. Manager of Training Logistics Katie Dyer recognized CSI juggled multiple platforms to deliver product and compliance training to both banking clients and more than 1,300 CSI employees. Working across these systems was inefficient, cumbersome, and time-consuming. As the organization grew, things only got more challenging and complex.

Tracking and reporting on training effectiveness was nearly impossible, as the reporting itself was limited. Potential clients always ask, “What’s the ROI on your training program?” But Katie didn’t have the quantifiable metrics to offer a definitive answer or the actionable insights to chart a clear path forward.

With a growing customer and employee base, CSI needed to find a way to effectively build and grow programs at scale.

“My reporting was just an absolute nightmare. I was trying to consolidate reports from many different systems and I spent half a day just taking all those reports, reformatting them, and then consolidating them.”

Katie Dyer
Manager of Training Logistics, CSI

The Solution

SCALABLE TRAINING AND ADVANCED REPORTING IN A SINGLE PACKAGE

CSI didn’t need to add yet another learning platform to its tech stack. Instead, they needed a unified solution that could efficiently scale, ease the administrative burden, and unambiguously prove training effectiveness. CSI found that solution in the Docebo Learn platform, combined with the Advanced Analytics pack.

CSI was attracted to Docebo’s easy scalability, which made it a good fit for training internal and client employees. Docebo Learn is also extremely customizable without being overwhelming. This customization meant CSI could build the exact training program they wanted and replicate it for customers, instead of reinventing the wheel every time.

The ability to consolidate training and reporting into one user-friendly platform made the choice a no-brainer. Katie, a self-described data junkie, found all the information she desired from Docebo’s analytics and learner feedback modules.

By leveraging Advanced Analytics capabilities, CSI can now integrate their learning data with other key systems, like their CRM, Power BI, and Smartsheet, unlocking real-time reporting and actionable insights across the business.

Thanks to the Snowflake technology powering Docebo’s backend, the integration was completed in just minutes. Snowflake enables instant, automatic scaling of compute resources, ensuring consistently high performance for any workload, without downtime or manual intervention. It also supports seamless, secure data sharing across organizations without the need for data duplication, empowering CSI with real-time access and the cross-functional collaboration needed to make smarter, faster decisions.

“Docebo’s reporting is superior to any other platform we looked at. You have more ad hoc reporting, more insights, and more fields just out of the box. When you add the ability to integrate data from your other systems on top of that, it becomes a powerhouse.”

Katie Dyer
Manager of Training Logistics, CSI

The Results

PROVEN, OPTIMIZED COMPLIANCE TRAINING

In Docebo, CSI found the all-in-one training and reporting solution capable of meeting the needs of its growing client base and workforce. By moving from multiple tools to one centralized solution, Katie can now instantly generate precise compliance reports, ensuring CSI clients and employees meet regulatory requirements.

CSI deployed real-time training dashboards across three departments, boosting efficiency and visibility. The implementations team, for example, closely follows new clients’ progress through certification and onboarding and can note trends in logins, new customers, and new learners added to the system. Having this information readily available saves the Implementation team about 52 hours a week, compared to having to export reports into Excel and then try to locate what they needed.

Katie’s team no longer has to respond to data requests, which saves them at least an hour a week. The team can also follow course usage alongside data like how long they have been a customer and how many support cases they have opened. A new dashboard is on the way for the training team and relationship managers, allowing them to correlate the data and reach out to banks with training suggestions.

Where Katie used to spend most of a day compiling data from various sources, Advanced Analytics now automatically feeds that information into customized reports. They’ve reduced their administrative burden by more than 50%, which frees Katie and the rest of the CSI L&D team to be proactive and focus on strategic initiatives.

Actionable insights and analytics have helped CSI make better decisions to optimize its training programs. With more real-time feedback and usage data, their training optimization cycles are now 2x faster, and their new analytics capabilities enable the company to prove the value of its training program and quickly identify new opportunities. By identifying underutilized training material, for example, Katie’s team realized they could roll those resources into other content.

With Learning Evaluation data now integrated alongside other key data points, CSI can also incorporate course feedback to pinpoint areas for improvement and drive even greater engagement. Additionally, after identifying consistent attendance dips in July and November, the team has strategically dedicated those months to content development and course enhancements.

Thanks to the automated integration, part of Docebo’s Advanced Analytics, the CSI team can even compare attendance vs. registration for live events to identify which programs attract the most participation. This information drives decisions about the upcoming training calendar and offerings, so they can offer more popular courses and scale back or remove underperforming sessions. They will soon be adding Learning Impact Data to reporting, which will further influence training decisions.

The result? High-impact, high-value training programs and increased efficiency. CSI decided to pass on the benefits by delivering their foundational Banking 101 suite at no extra cost to customers.

In addition to the customizable yet accessible platform that can fit any need, CSI has developed a great partnership with Docebo. Whatever new challenges CSI encounters, the Docebo platform and team are ready to provide solutions.

“My experience working with the team at Docebo is the gold standard for what a customer relationship should be. They are truly a partner. They listen to what we need and help us find solutions. They’ve been amazing to work with.”

MidFirst Bank doubles its training content and streamlines compliance with Docebo

MidFirst Bank is a privately owned financial institution based in Oklahoma City. It serves more than one million customer accounts across the US and has $36.7 billion in assets. MidFirst competes with larger banks in terms of products and services while providing a community bank’s personal touch and flexibility.

The Challenge

REACHING DIVERSE LEARNERS AND IMPROVING COMPLIANCE

MidFirst Bank is one of the largest privately held financial institutions in the US and employs about 3,500 people. Suzan Haizlip, the organization’s Learning and Performance Operations Manager, is responsible for ensuring this vast workforce is well-trained, compliant with regulations, and capable of delivering high-quality service to customers.

Doing so is challenging, as it involves reaching not only internal employees in their main banking centers and satellite branches on both coasts but also external employees who manually access their systems.

Inflexible legacy systems meant MidFirst Bank only offered around 100 online training courses because generating and customizing content was so difficult.

Onboarding new employees posed an additional hurdle. Getting new hires up to speed quickly on policies, procedures, and job-specific skills was critical, but only two departments had access to an onboarding platform. Other departments managed onboarding manually, delaying employees’ start dates.

However, their biggest pain point was reporting for compliance. Tracking participation and completion rates for compliance training and other key metrics was cumbersome. They could only pull one report from their old system, which they then had to parse to create different reports. It was very time-consuming, taking analysts up to three days to generate the necessary reports to move forward.

Determined to grow and scale their learning ecosystem, MidFirst Bank sought a new learning platform capable of increasing usage and usability, reducing the admin burden on teams, and boosting training, compliance, and efficiency bank-wide.

“In our previous systems, everything was locked down. We couldn’t make real-time adjustments to the platform, making it difficult to tailor content to different audiences.”

Suzan Haizlip
VP of Learning and Performance Operations Manager, MidFirst Bank

The Solution

BUILDING A BEST-IN-CLASS LEARNING ECOSYSTEM

When MidFirst Bank began searching for a learning platform, they wanted more than just a vendor. They wanted a hands-on partner, and Docebo fit the role perfectly. Ultimately, the MidFirst Bank team decided to work with Docebo because of their customer service, personal touch, and ability to demonstrate what it could do for the bank moving forward.

With a dedicated resource to streamline the onboarding process, Suzan and her team quickly got up to speed with Docebo and started to transform learning and performance across the organization. At last, the team had a flagship platform with sharp design, incredible functionality, and the flexibility to scale to every business unit and use case. The platform’s powerful capabilities made it accessible to employees nationwide, seamlessly handling multiple time zones and providing easy log-in options.

Unlike some other platforms, Docebo allows Suzan to create audience-specific pages with drag-and-drop ease, enabling her to launch learning programs and create a hyper-personalized experience. They can add a CSS or immediately change the system’s appearance. Each customer can have a personal look and feel when they log in, which makes a world of difference.
Docebo’s ease of content creation and program building empowered Suzan and subject matter experts to quickly expand content across onboarding, skill development, compliance, and product and service training.

Meanwhile, Docebo’s robust reporting and analytics make it easy for Suzan to get the data she needs to understand how learners engage with the programs, achieve their objectives, and stay compliant. They can add fields, add context, and pull reports that they can quickly and automatically send to customers. This automation saves the team significant time, allowing them to focus on other value-added priorities.

In addition to the robust platform, Suzan’s team relies on Docebo’s “amazing” online community and knowledge base to answer questions and resolve issues. The community allows customers to have one-on-one conversations, discuss pain points, and share experiences anytime.

“We’re not spending our days finding reports or compiling data. Now, we can look forward, planning new integrations and enhancements. We’re more customer- and performance-focused, rather than just making the system work for today’s needs.”

Suzan Haizlip
VP of Learning and Performance Operations Manager, MidFirst Bank

The Results

2X MORE TRAINING CONTENT AND $11K SAVED ANNUALLY

Since implementing Docebo, MidFirst Bank has more than doubled its learning content, increasing from 167 courses to nearly 400. This rapid scale ensures employees are properly trained and equipped to deliver exceptional service.

Compliance completion rates have risen by 10%, a huge deal for any financial institution, while automation has reduced their administrative burden, saving the business over $11,000 annually.

MidFirst Bank also sees Docebo’s customer service as a significant win. The Docebo team proactively addresses any problems and has proven to be the partner MidFirst Bank wanted.

Another standout achievement is the expansion of their onboarding programs. Initially, only two departments had access to online onboarding. Now, every unit throughout the business uses custom platforms. Employees who previously handled things manually can now access automated online courses, speeding their time to proficiency.

MidFirst Bank has come a long way with Docebo. The transformation has been a great experience for the team, and the organizational advancements have been a remarkable success story.

“Not using Docebo would mean reverting back to our manual processes, which would have us going in reverse. We’ve achieved and grown so much with Docebo; I just can’t imagine not having that platform.”

Suzan Haizlip
VP of Learning and Performance Operations Manager, MidFirst Bank

Burges Salmon

How Docebo helped Burges Salmon create a learning culture

Burges Salmon is a UK law firm with a national and international presence. The firm operates throughout the UK and in all major European and international jurisdictions. The firm has 98 partners and sector expertise in a range of areas including energy, transport, food and farming, real estate, financial services and infrastructure.

The Challenge

INVESTMENT IN PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT AND PROMOTING A CULTURE OF CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

The Learning and Development team had been using a basic Learning Management Platform with very limited functionality. This restricted them from hosting digital content and prevented them from being able to push forward with ‘just in time’ learning or ‘on demand’ content. They were also unable to offer any learning ‘on the go’ via mobile apps or devices.

The business had started to see more people travelling and working out of the office, often resulting in individuals missing face-to-face sessions. There was a clear need for individuals to have access to flexible training, which would enable them to complete the training from any location, and at a time that suited them.

With the 2020 pandemic, the Learning and Development team took this as an opportunity to rethink and change their offering and identified they needed a flexible Learning Management Platform to achieve this.

One of the organisation’s objectives was to invest in the development of our people and to promote continuous improvement. Having a platform that could offer employees everything in one area and on demand learning to support continuous learning support the business case for a new platform.

“The Docebo platform has really helped us transform and drive our digital learning strategy forward”

Chloe Parfitt
Digital Learning Manager, Burges Salmon

The Solution

When launching a new learning experience, the platform had to have the Burges Salmon brand. In partnership with their marketing team they were able to achieve the look they needed.

The design also had to be responsive. Being able to access the Learning Management System at any time and from Laptops, desktop or mobile devices was essential, as it needed to be flexible for travel needs and for ‘just in time’ learning requirements which could be outside of regular office hours.

The dashboard was personalized depending on an individual’s role within the organisation. Three dashboards were designed for Lawyer, Client Support Team Member and Business Services. This allowed individuals to see content only relevant to their role.

The platform combines all three key learning areas Learning and Development, Technology and Legal Training. Users can easily see all three areas with content related to their role when entering the platform.

For Burges Salmon learners, accessing one’s own curriculum in the Learning and Development section, in order to have personal development conversations with their Manager at their reviews and 1:1s. This helps to promote a learning culture within the organisation and helps to develop content that is both relevant and appropriate to all employees.

A variety of learning would be available, an individual could book onto a virtual classroom course or watch/read ‘on demand’ learning, depending on their preference or need. This offered content for all learning preferences.

In addition, all third party training is embedded within the Learning Management System to keep all learning in one place and enable meaningful analytics to happen in one place.

Finally, in order to really drive engagement and return users, the Burges Salmon team focused on driving a strategy of social learning. Course and content ratings are active to allow users to give instant feedback on whether they found learning materials useful. This has been particularly important as a feedback loop to help analyse relevance and usefulness. Digital badges have been a new edition to the teams offering.

The Results

MASSIVE IMPROVEMENTS IN MANDATORY COMPLIANCE COMPLETIONS BY 31%

As a law firm, compliance training is majorly important. The new Docebo Suite powered platform has helped Burges Salmon to track outstanding training and give teams and leaders a clear insight. For example, their mandatory anti-money laundering training completion rate rose from 67% to 98%.

Additionally, instructor led training is an important part of their program and since implementing their platform ILT session attendance has increased by 85%.

In October 2021 Burges Salmon launched The ‘Digital Academy’ on the Docebo platform which boasts varied training modules and learning resources across a wide curriculum to help people upskill. Engagement with the Digital Academy has been high and has demonstrated early success with 423 digital badges being achieved. It’s ongoing success is due to a number of factors, the ability to tailor content to make it relatable, engaging and easily accessible on the Docebo platform.

CHOOSING, CPIVOTING TO ONLINE TRAINING DURING A PANDEMICONFIGURING, AND LAUNCHING THEIR NEW LMS–ALL IN ONLY TWO MONTHS

When the COVID-19 pandemic began, Bethany Care Society had to radically reimagine their staff orientation and training model. Previously, each new staff member was required to attend in-person classroom training sessions, which were between one to two full days. The pandemic made it impossible to gather large groups of people for orientation.

As professionals in the healthcare field, it is essential to train new hires on topics like infection prevention and control, privacy, and resident care before they start at one of Bethany Care Society’s senior care facilities.

The Bethany education team managed to cobble together a virtual training solution on a patchwork of systems, but the process was difficult for users to navigate and time-consuming for educators to put together.

Bethany Care Society needed a more efficient solution.

“We rigged together a number of different systems to provide a basic online orientation. But Dawn and I knew it wasn’t going to be a sustainable model going forward.”

Dawn Larche
Manager of Learning and Development, Bethany Seniors

The Solution

A POWERFUL LMS WITH MOBILE FUNCTIONALITY

Bethany Care Society began an expedited selection and implementation process to find a learning management system (LMS) to onboard their new hires.

They chose Docebo for its intuitive UX and mobile app functionality: as frontline healthcare workers, their staff needed microlearning they could complete on-the-go from their tablet or mobile phone.

Docebo’s robust enrollment rules allow them to curate content for different positions and locations automatically. They also integrated the LMS with their HR management system, so educators don’t have to input any new employee information manually.

Thanks to Docebo, Bethany Care Society can onboard new employees as soon as they’re hired, instead of waiting for the next monthly in-person session.

“Before Docebo, we would have in-class orientation once or twice a month. Having new hires complete their orientation on the LMS, before their first shift, is hugely beneficial to our operations.”

Dawn Larche
Manager of Learning and Development, Bethany Seniors

The Results

24% ORIENTATION COSTS SAVED AND RAMP UP TIME FOR NEW HIRES REDUCED BY 45%

Bethany Care Society began seeing a return on investment immediately after switching to Docebo.

Overall, Docebo has helped Bethany Care Society reduce orientation costs by 24% annually. Switching to online learning saves educators 372 hours of in-classroom time, and the number of orientation hours for new hires has been reduced by 45%.

Now, new hires can complete orientation before their start date, and arrive for their first shift ready to hit the ground running. New hires can start working sooner, and educators can focus their time and energy on developing competency and skills-based courses instead. Plus, new hires no longer have to attend courses that aren’t relevant to them, saving even more time.

Online courses help Bethany Care Society keep messaging consistent, which is especially important for compliance. They can guarantee that every employee is receiving the same information.

Virtual learning also makes it easier to communicate protocol changes and new health orders during the pandemic. They don’t need to worry about gathering shift workers with different schedules into a classroom.

Most importantly, employees love the new virtual training.

“Our new employees have been overwhelmingly positive about the new
onboarding process. We’ve had employees tell us that this is the best training they’ve received in their 30-year careers, and that this is the most engaging and informative orientation they’ve ever seen.”

CHOOSING, CONFIGURING, AND LAUNCHING THEIR NEW LMS–ALL IN ONLY TWO MONTHS

The technology FintechOS produces is evolving at a really fast pace. As the business was scaling and growing, enablement became a critical priority.

They already had a talented in-house team of instructional designers and training content producers. Next, they needed to find an agile learning management system (LMS) with the technical capability to scale with them as their company continued to grow.

To make matters trickier, FintechOS had a hard launch deadline a little over two months away, at their annual digital banking & insurance summit. They were expecting hundreds of people to register for the new FintechOS Academy at the event directly from their mobile devices.

If the LMS wasn’t ready in time for the event or if customers encountered technical issues, FintechOS would miss out on a key opportunity to drive adoption.

“This announcement was one of the highlights of our annual global event, and it was critical for us to have a smooth process. If we didn’t, we would miss out on a huge communication opportunity.”

Roxana Talef
Academy Leader, FintechOS

The Solution

EASY IMPLEMENTATION AND STELLAR TECHNICAL SUPPORT FROM A TRUSTED PARTNER

FintechOS began looking for an agile learning platform to support their vision. They needed to find a system that was approachable, with a learning experience that was intuitive and accessible.

FintechOS chose Docebo Learn LMS for its scalability and flexibility–but they also realized that Docebo’s supportive solution deployment managers (SDMs), great technical support, and clear documentation would help them move quickly through the implementation process.

The FintechOS team went through several enablement sessions with their Docebo SDM, which helped them grasp the system’s capabilities and configure the platform. Having the support of a technical team they could count on made it easy to trust the platform’s capabilities.

Onboarding the training department went smoothly. FintechOS leveraged a power user framework to provide visibility and divide ownership of the learning lifecycle, from content creation to session delivery, management and administration of learning content, as well as reporting.

Docebo’s automation and templated reports, as well as the ease of setting up power user roles, all contributed to the smooth administrative operations required for launch and scaling.

“We were looking for a partner; a vendor we could trust. Our ambitious launch required a collaborative relationship with technical support and the deployment managers. And from the very beginning, the account executives at Docebo handled everything so well. The communication with them was great.”

Roxana Talef
Academy Leader, FintechOS

The Results

A SUCCESSFUL GLOBAL LAUNCH FOR FINTECHOS ACADEMY

After seven weeks, FintechOS launched the platform internally for over 400 employees. Then, only nine weeks after procurement, the big day arrived: FintechOS launched FintechOS Academy for their partner ecosystem at their global conference.

The launch was a phenomenal success. FintechOS was able to capitalize on this messaging opportunity and introduce this platform to a huge portion of their user base at once. Users were able to register directly from their phones and begin learning right away.

Since their launch, each user has completed an average of five to seven courses. Thanks to a smooth launch and a productive partnership with the Docebo team, FintechOS Academy continues to be a fantastic success for the company.

“Between assessing the training needs and designing the content, launching an academy is a high-stake and stressful project. But having an LMS that was so reliable simplified the whole process. Docebo gave us the full support to accomplish everything we set out to do.”

SATO Holdings Corporation uses Docebo to cut employee ramp-up time in half

The SATO Group comprises 43 companies that develops and produces hardware, software and consumables to integrate with third party offerings as automaticidentification solutions. These solutions streamline workflows by enabling the capture and visualization of data for a connected world of productivity, safety, reassurance and sustainability. By giving things a digital identity, SATO helps businesses in retail, manufacturing, food, health care and transport & logistics run smoothly.

The Challenge

STREAMLINING LEARNING FOR 26+ COUNTRIES WITH ONE GLOBAL PLATFORM

When HR Specialist Joao Celestino first started working at SATO Holdings, the company was in the middle of a global initiative, aptly named “ONE SATO,” to unify its company culture and processes.

With offices across 26 countries spanning a wide variety of cultures, languages, and audiences, the company was decentralized. Offices shared the SATO name, but employees didn’t feel connected to colleagues in other regions and HR initiatives were fragmented across offices.

The company realized that one of its major roadblocks was its inability to create global L&D initiatives: Their existing learning system was outdated and severely limited. Language localization and analytics were non-existent. Because of this, new employee onboarding was designed and conducted locally. Each office had its own processes, there were no companywide standards, and implementing anything from HQ was difficult. Onboarding a new employee could take over nine months, costing the company time and wasting valuable resources—not to mention increasing employee frustration.

Employees also didn’t have any way to learn about the company’s new products—they had to rely on individual managers for training. In addition, industry information provided by headquarters was difficult to share due to inconsistent knowledge levels across SATO employees. As a result, employees sometimes felt unsupported and they didn’t know where to turn to learn more about SATO’s products and solutions.

“I give Docebo 10/10. If you’re looking for a system that’s easy to implement and your company is serious about L&D, Docebo is definitely the right choice. Hands down.”

Joao Celestino
Human Resources Development Specialist, SATO

The Solution

A GLOBAL LEARNING SUITE TO STANDARDIZE ONBOARDING WORLDWIDE

As a Japanese company, SATO was invested in a process called Nemawashi (根回し), which involves getting all of the major stakeholders on board with a demo version before choosing a learning system.

During this live demo consideration stage, Docebo stood out from its competitors for its supportive, collaborative approach, long before a contract was signed. Docebo helped SATO build a robust test learning environment and worked with them to answer questions about configurations and features.

With advanced localization options, multilingual capabilities, audience segmentation, and the capacity to scale and serve thousands of employees worldwide, Docebo checked all of SATO Holdings’ boxes—including boxes they hadn’t realized they had, like AI auto-tagging, API integrations, and course catalogs. SATO Holdings was quickly able to build and launch standardized, industry-specific employee onboarding materials in all of their local languages.

They also created product training materials, so that existing employees could fill knowledge gaps and build their skills. With easy-to-find, self-serve training available for every SATO product, employees could easily complete product training, while managers could track their progress and completion rates through Docebo’s analytics.

From the early demo days to their current learning suite, the Docebo account manager’s unwavering support has made Joao’s work so much easier, from implementing the initial system to choosing features and solutions for SATO’s specific use case as the company scaled its L&D efforts.

“I have absolute trust in our account manager. They’ve made it so easy to implement the system and they’ve always made it easy to understand which solution we need for whatever challenge we’re currently facing.”

Joao Celestino
Human Resources Development Specialist, SATO

The Results

CUTTING EMPLOYEE RAMP-UP TIME IN HALF

Since implementing Docebo, SATO Holdings has cut average new employee onboarding time in half, from 9 months to 4.5 months. This means new employees can start generating value for the company much sooner. Employee headcount has also grown by 20%—supported by their new global standardized onboarding.

Existing employees are also reaping the benefits of the new learning system: They can easily find product information and training without having to ask their managers, enabling a culture of continuous learning throughout the SATO Group.

SATO’s siloed culture is slowly transitioning towards a more open one, as employees report feeling more connected to their colleagues across the world. Employee turnover rates for new employees have decreased from 30% down to below 10%, and employees report higher job satisfaction, too.

Managers have been empowered to take an active role in their employees’ development. Now, they can easily track training completion rates and guide employees interested in promotion towards the right courses to build the skills they need.

The company has managed to build a stronger sense of unity worldwide, bringing it closer to the idea of “ONE SATO”.

“A lot of the employee feedback we’ve gotten about the learning management project and Docebo is that employees feel connected now. They’re getting the same materials as their counterparts in other countries and they feel that they’re getting the support they need. That is one of the biggest benefits we have had in terms of people development.”

The Challenge

ACCESSING THE LEARNING DATA THEY NEED TO RUN THEIR BUSINESS

As an enterprise software provider for higher education with over 3,000 employees, Ellucian generates a lot of data.

Having access to all of that data—including learning data from Docebo Learning Platform—is critical for the company’s strategic decision-making and success.

But integrating the data from their learning system with other sources, like Salesforce, was tricky. Ellucian needed a way to efficiently deliver customized reports to to multiple departments by combining learning data with other business data to make data driven decisions.

Learning Technology Administrator Shawn Dinnocenti would pull information from Docebo and combine that learning data with information from other sources to create reports in their CRM, so that other teams and departments who needed access to the information could find it.

Ellucian needed more flexible, automated access to all their learning data, so that they could integrate it with other sources of data into a single system, create the visual reporting they wanted, and easily correlate that data with other business data.

For anybody working with Docebo reports, having Learn Data is like having the keys to the kingdom. You get to go behind the scenes. You can go in and pull out the reports you want yourself. And that’s been worth every penny.”

The Solution

CENTRALIZING THEIR DATA IN THEIR EXISTING BI WITH DOCEBO LEARN DATA

With Docebo Learn Data powered by Snowflake data warehouse technology, Ellucian can add all their learning data into the central repository: their existing BI and data ecosystem.

Ellucian created their own reports within Snowflake using the raw data that they were able to extract with Learn Data. From there, they were able to customize different visuals and tables and add those to dashboards designed for different users.

Now, their Docebo learning data is combined with insights from Gainsight and Salesforce to Tableau, so that multiple business units can access visual data reports instantly.

Ellucian uses Docebo for different purposes, including partner training, customer enablement, and internal training. For each of these, having centralized data and clear reporting has given the company valuable insights that have driven business decision-making.

We wanted more data to run our business. And training is part of the business, even if people don’t always think about it that way. The reports that were in Docebo were really good, but they didn’t provide us with the whole picture, and no one outside of the learning team could access them.”

The Results

MANAGING THEIR BUSINESS WITH BETTER DATA

Now that Ellucian can easily combine learning data with data from different sources into a single place, the company leadership can use L&D data for better strategic decision-making.

Having all of this data in one environment also helps them blend and enrich data, leading to even more data-driven decisions in the future.

All of the reports that Shawn built and distributed each morning are now generated and shared automatically, saving her half an hour of her day — over 130 hours each year. She can use that time on the more strategic aspects of her job, like creating testing plans for learning platform upgrades.

With Learn Data, Ellucian has also been able to see revenue trends and track which courses are most profitable to increase their ROI from Docebo.

Ellucian has only been using Learn Data for a short time, but as their usage evolves, they are excited to be able to correlate more data and see what they can accomplish next.

“Docebo Learn Data allows us to see all of our learning data where we want to see it, and it allows us to combine that with other business data in a very visual way. It takes our reporting from good to great.”

The Challenge

FINDING AN LMS THAT COULD MATCH THEIR AMBITION AND SCALE WITH THEIR GROWTH

Definity Financial Corporation was formed in 2021 in connection with the demutualization of Economical Mutual Insurance Company in the largest Canadian IPO of the year, and the second-largest IPO of its kind to ever debut on the TSX. With the wind (and investors) at its back, Definity needed an LMS that could keep up and help the company continuously improve its products, services and experiences.

Though their business was excelling, they had room to improve in learning efficiency. Fewer than 1% of their users were engaging with their existing LMS and it took 10 months to achieve their annual compliance training targets.

Definity decided to focus on L&D, making it a true differentiator and empowering employees to take ownership of their learning and skills development. The company was certain that if it had the right tool, it could achieve its ambitious goals. Definity partnered with Docebo to materialize these objectives.

“Docebo has significantly streamlined our ability to manage and track training completion, dramatically reducing manual intervention and enabling faster completion of compliance training.”

The Solution

DOCEBO LEARNING SUITE: A SCALABLE SOLUTION TO BUILD A LEARNING CULTURE

Definity set itself up for success, starting by securing executive sponsorship and buy-in from senior leaders. Once everyone was aligned and on board, Definity’s marketing team created a distinct and memorable (and bilingual!) brand identity for
its new learning platform: Max Learning.

Docebo APIs allowed Definity to automate the migration of its existing training materials and enrolment info, saving time on what would have been an arduous manual process. But the company knew that if they wanted employees to dive deep into continuous improvement, they were going to need more content. A lot more content.

Definity paired its Max Learning platform with Docebo Content, launching the platform with 100 new courses from the industry’s top providers. What a launch it was! Docebo’s implementation team worked with Definity to ensure the launch
was exciting and memorable, producing a ‘Meet Max’ hype video and creating a series of engaging tutorials in both English and French. It worked: in the first five days, over 40% of employees had met Max. And in the months that followed, that number would climb to 96% and then 100%.

“By emphasizing simplicity, quick access to relevant content, and a strategic approach for the staggered implementation of all of the Docebo features, we saw an immediate upswing in usage and positive feedback.”

Nicole Lavigne
Manager of Learning and Development, Definity

The Results

A VIBRANT CULTURE OF LEARNING AND PERFORMANCE

Definity had revamped the compliance training experience and curated effective training that helped employees grow. And the company quickly saw the ROI of rethinking the role learning played in its business.

User adoption went from 1% to over 65%, proving that when you make learning engaging, people take time to learn. Furthermore, when the training experience is intuitive, users don’t drag their feet in completing it: by leveraging automated notifications to keep users on track, Definity was able to cut the time to achieve total compliance from 10 months down to seven weeks. Now, 80% of employees say they have opportunities at work to grow personally and professionally, which is one of the best predictors of retention and a key variable for attracting top talent.

Of course, Definity isn’t finished. The company maintains its focus on continuous improvement, automating more processes and offering a growing library of relevant courses and training to keep its people at the top of their game.

As Definity’s culture of learning solidifies, the company is also working to empower its people. Trainers will soon be able to manage their own content and updates and the “Ask an Expert” tool will be expanded to a searchable database, strengthening knowledge sharing and collaboration across the organization.

When you build a culture of learning, the future is always bright.

“We know that growing our employees through a learning culture contributes to new ways of thinking which help to make insurance better. Docebo has been the right partner to help Definity super-charge our learning culture with personalized learning experiences for our valued employees and broker partners.”

SVP & Chief People and Culture Officer, Definity
