Introduction

Docebo’s journey towards accessibility began in 2020 and it can be considered as a work in progress, as more and more areas of the learner experience meet the platform accessibility standards.

As part of this journey, starting from the Docebo monthly release of the week of May 24, 2021, the My Profile area of your platform will become fully accessible, according to WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) 2.1, the U.S. Section 508 Standards of the Federal Rehabilitation Act in terms of accessibility and the European EN 301 549 V3.1.1 (Accessibility Requirements for ICT products and services).

While reworking this area, Docebo is also responding to an idea that received 100 votes in the Docebo’s Ideas Portal on the management of the Single-Sign-On authentication and the possibility for users to change their password. In addition, we have also worked in order to provide better guidance for the change password flow, as well as for the process user follow to update their user additional fields

What’s New

Starting from the Docebo monthly release of the week of May 24, 2021, a new option, called Prevent users from changing their password, will be available in the platform Advanced Settings. When this option is active, all of the areas available for users to change their password across the platform will be hidden (in the My Profile area, in the My Profile widget as well as the password reset option in the login form).

If you are working in a Single-Sign-On scenario, and you have enabled the Show only SSO buttons and hide login form toggle in the Branding Look & Feel menu of your platform, the Prevent users from changing their password will be enabled by default. Thanks to this security enhancement, users will no longer be able to change their password from the Docebo platform, and will thus stick with the one set in the Identity Provider, avoiding mismatching and log-in issues.

Are CSS Impacted?

If you are already hiding the Change Password section of the My Profile area with CSS, please note that starting on the Docebo monthly release of the week of May 24, 2021, that CSS will no longer be valid. Docebo will not fix the CSS this time, since the new option will cover this scenario in a more efficient way.

As usual, we want to partner with you to ensure that your current platform configuration remains unchanged as we release this newly accessible area. Upon release:

  • if the Show only SSO buttons and hide login form toggle is enabled in the Branding Look & Feel menu of your platform, all change password related options across the platform will be hidden (in the My Profile area, in the My Profile widget as well as the password reset option in the login form).
  • if the Show only SSO buttons and hide login form toggle is disabled in the Branding Look & Feel menu of your platform, all change password related options across the platform will be visible (in the My Profile area, in the My Profile widget as well as the password reset option in the login form).

You can change these options according to your needs at any time after the release.
